This policy explains the cookies used on codebunnies.com and why.

The cookies we use

We keep cookies to a minimum. This site sets two categories of cookie: strictly necessary cookies from Cloudflare, which keep the site secure and available, and – only if you agree – analytics cookies from Google Analytics, which help us understand how the site is used. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not build a profile of you across other websites.

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are placed by Cloudflare, our security and content-delivery provider, to protect the site from malicious and automated traffic and to keep it available. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), strictly-necessary cookies are exempt from consent.

• cf_clearance (Cloudflare) – records that your browser has passed a security challenge, so you are not repeatedly challenged. Lasts up to one year.
• __cf_bm (Cloudflare) – bot management; helps Cloudflare tell human visitors apart from automated traffic. Lasts around 30 minutes.

We do not control the specifics of these cookies. Cloudflare describes them in its own cookie documentation.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)

We use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics 4, which helps us understand how visitors find and use the site – which pages are read, how people arrive at them, and what kinds of device they use. This information is aggregated; we use it to improve the site, not to identify you personally.

These cookies are only set if you choose "accept" in the cookie banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set. Google Tag Manager itself does not set cookies. With your consent, Google Analytics sets the following:

• _ga (Google Analytics) – distinguishes one visitor from another. Lasts up to 2 years.
• _ga_* (Google Analytics) – keeps session state for our Analytics property. Lasts up to 2 years.

Google may process this data on servers outside the UK and EEA, including in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the UK it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Remembering your choice

Your consent decision itself is kept in your browser's local storage (a similar technology to a cookie) under the name cb-cookie-consent. It holds only the word "granted" or "denied", never identifies you, and never leaves your device.

Managing cookies

Cloudflare's cookies are essential to the site's security, so blocking them may stop parts of the site from working. Analytics cookies are not essential – you can block or delete them without affecting your use of the site.

You can change your mind about analytics at any time: delete this site's cookies and stored data in your browser's settings and the consent banner will appear again on your next visit. You can view and delete cookies, and control how your browser handles them, in your browser's settings.
